Focus on the Causation. 

Did police officers actually cause the death of Mr. Floyd? If so, how? And if officers did, were their actions justified?  

No one has been charged with intentional homicide here. The legally significant questions are what did Mr. Chauvin know and when did he know it?

Odds are, you will give your wallet to both but feel differently about the reasons for compliance.
