Season 1, Episode 2: Behind the Yellow Tape - Domestic Violence
I get a lot of questions about my career as a police officer. For those of you who do not know, I was a Miami-Dade Police Officer for many years before becoming a lawyer. In my police years, I worked in uniform patrol for a few years and spent the rest of my career as a homicide detective.
In this episode of Law and Life, I will answer some questions I have gotten concerning domestic violence. This will be presented from my experience as a police officer as well as a lawyer. I will answer questions such as what is it like responding to a domestic violence call? Why are domestic violence calls so dangerous? What are some of the domestic violence calls you remember most?
I will wrap up with an explanation of the different types of domestic violence cases and how to file for a domestic violence injunction. I will also answer any live questions submitted during the broadcast.
