Each year for the last decade plus, the team has escaped the Texas summer heat to conduct their annual training camp in the breezy conditions of Oxnard, California. It allows the team the bonding experience of getting away from home for six weeks, in addition to being a more suitable environment with temperatures in the 60s and 70s as opposed to potential 100-degree days in the heart of Texas.

Peter King thinks the Cowboys should have gone defense over CeeDee Lamb When the Cowboys were on the clock with the 17th overall pick there were plenty of fans concerned that the team was going to prioritize a need - say defensive end - over the true best player available. Doing something like this would have led to Dallas drafting someone like K’Lavon Chaisson over CeeDee Lamb. Most observers are thankful that this did not happen.

It’s unclear how training camps will be affected although there are reports that they could start on time. Having a full training camp will be imperative for Lamb to develop chemistry with Dak Prescott. Should the camp be shortened, it will take that much longer for Lamb to acclimate to the offense, potentially resulting in limited playing time early on in the season.  A pandemic isn’t the only thing that threatens his playing time. The Cowboys already have two 1,000-yard receivers on their roster in Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Barring injury, Lamb will likely start the season as the No. 3 receiver.
