We’ve all heard the phrase, “don’t ever meet your heroes” and while it may ring true for some Hollywood elites, there are some exceptions to the rule. It would depend on what kind of “meeting” you would want to have with today’s show subject, but for most, we would most likely ask to be dropped off after dinner and a couple drinks. Lawrence Taylor is considered by many to be the greatest defensive player the NFL has ever seen. His recklessness and athleticism were something the league hadn’t seen before, leading to new blocking schemes to try and slow him down, extensive professional accolades, and two Super Bowl rings along the way. LT seemed to have the football part of his life down pat. But to quote the late, great Rick James, “cocaine is a hell of a drug”. LT lived a hard partying lifestyle of epic proportions, and at some point, it almost cost him his career. Did his love of the white lady ever effect his play on the field? How early did all his drug use start? How many hookers did this guy buy in a day? We’ll dive into all this and more in the Lawrence Taylor episode of AHC Podcast.
