Laxmi Narayan Tripathi is a transgender rights activist and Bharatanatyam dancer in Mumbai, India. Born as a male, she is the first transgender to represent Asia Pacific in the UN in 2008. At the assembly, she spoke of the plight of sexual minorities.
She started her own organisation, Astitva in 2007 to promote the welfare of sexual minorities, their support and development.
