Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Is there any other verse in the Bible that contradicts the ethos of our age more than this verse? In our world, blessed are the opportunists, the aggressive, the violent, the loud and proud go-getters. Yet Jesus said the world is promised to those who are meek.
