The Triune God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But what does that mean for our everyday lives? What practical difference does it make for us today that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
Three things:
The Triune God exists in relationship.
The Triune God is personal.
The Triune God is God.
Why do Christians celebrate Pentecost and what does it mean for you today? (Apologies for the technical difficulties. The audio is from our backup system.)
The ascension of Christ is good news for us because we have an Advocate, we are sent with authority, and we have the assurance that Christ will return!
Financial Capital is ranked #5, and is last in our list of the five capitals after Spiritual Capital, Relational Capital, Intellectual Capital and Physical Capital. It takes last place not because it is not important, but because the other capitals are more important. And when the other capitals are in place first, this one tends to follow naturally. This is the exact opposite of our typical concerns. We are far more likely to worry about finances and ignore spiritual capital completely. God has much to say to us in His Word about our use of money and what our habits teach us about the posture of our heart.
The Bible reveals that our generosity comes from our generous God, and so we begin by looking at His generosity toward us. God provides for us, especially in the areas of the five capitals - Spiritual, Relational, Intellectual, Physical, and Financial. In this series we will be looking at the framework of the five capitals not so much as self-disciplines, but rather as opportunities to pass along the generosity we’ve received from God.
Physical Capital is ranked #4 in our list of the five capitals after Spiritual Capital, Relational Capital, and Intellectual Capital. It represents the time and space God has entrusted to us to use in the vocations to which He has called us. Today, we are especially grateful for those who serve in the vocation of motherhood, whether that be biological, adopted, or mentoring as a mother-figure.

Intellectual Capital is ranked #3 in our list of the five capitals after Spiritual Capital and Relational Capital. It represents the knowledge and resources we employ in the work to which God has called us.

Relational Capital is ranked #2 in our list of the five capitals after Spiritual Capital. It represents the relationships we enjoy which fuel us for the vocations to which God has called us.

What is Spiritual Capital and why is it the most important of the capitals? In addition to spiritual gifts, spiritual capital also includes the gifts where God’s Spirit is at work, such as through His Word (the Bible), through prayer, through forgiveness, and through our God-given identity as His beloved child, because identity is a powerful gift from God.

The empty tomb shows that Jesus is true to His Word. We can trust that when He freely offers us the forgiveness of our sins, the resurrection proves that He has the authority to do so. Easter changes everything!
From the cross Jesus forgave His enemies, and it is by His sacrifice on the cross that we are forgiven and transformed from being enemies of God to being His forgiven people. Receiving the forgiveness of God changes our eternal destination but it also affects our heart, mind, and soul. So, as we walk with Jesus to the cross and the empty tomb of Easter, in this sermon series we are looking at what the Bible teaches about forgiveness and how it impacts our lives today.
