LCC Sunday Messages

Remember the childhood game of following the leader?  You did wherever the leader went or whatever the leader did if you wanted to stay in the game.  Well, some lessons from childhood can carry over into adult life.  Today we will examine the importance of following our leader, Jesus...going where He goes and doing what He does.

Suppose it’s your first time at a new church, and no one speaks to you, no one reaches out to you, and no one acts like they want to be your friend. How would that make you feel?

It happened to the Apostle Paul; it would have if a fella named Barnabas hadn't decided that Paul needed a friend.

Revelation. It's the moment when suddenly things make sense.  We’ve all experienced it at some point. Maybe it was in grammar school when we learned to multiply.  Maybe it was the moment we found the person we wanted to spend the rest of our life with.

One thing is certain for Christ’s followers, the moment of revelation that we experience when we meet Jesus is the biggest “aha!” moment of our life.  How do we respond to such revelation?  Today, we will continue our study of Acts and find what revelation’s results look like.

Today we will consider the conversion of Saul as we witness the start of his powerful transformation from Saul, to Paul.  We will see how the conversion of this “chief of sinners” gives everyone hope.  No one is beyond the reach of the amazing grace of our savior, Jesus.

Thought much about water baptism? It was exemplified and commanded by Jesus, and it was taught and faithfully practiced by His followers throughout the early Church. But what does it actually mean to be baptized? What’s the real message behind it? And why did Jesus command that every follower of His be baptized? This morning we’ll answer each of these questions.

Today’s society is inundated with mixed messages.  How do we separate truth from fiction?  How do we identify what is real from the counterfeit? As believers in Jesus Christ, we have experienced THE TRUTH. As we continue our study of Acts, we will examine how the truth of Jesus Christ began to spread into Samaria with some amazing results and be challenged to carry His truth to our community and the world.

Today we will be challenged by the amazing story of Stephen.  The obedience, boldness, and compassion of this great man of God in the face of false accusations and death set for us an example of how one believer, empowered by the Spirit of God, can present the truth of Jesus Christ in word and deed to anyone, anywhere, and in spite of any circumstances. Stephen demonstrates for us what one follower of Christ can accomplish for the Kingdom of God!
