There is amazing power in unity. But looking at the church today, are we really unified? Unity can only happen as we submit ourselves to Christ, who is over all. When we are unified in Christ, we can then truly complete the mission God has given us!
God did not wire us to be able to follow Christ in our own strength. We are dependent upon the immeasurable power of God working in and through us to truly experience the fullness of His love and be equipped to share it with others.
The 2018 Dominican Republic Missions team share their experience.
Everyone wants to feel that they belong. God has provided a place where we may experience a deep and satisfying joy of belonging: the Church, the Body of Christ. In Christ, walls are broken down as followers from every walk and nation are joined together by the power of the Gospel.

At Calvary, Christ laid down His life as the perfect Lamb of God. His sacrifice made a way for us outsiders to finally come home. On that day flanked by two thieves, Jesus’ love was displayed. The one on the left was at war with God and men; he cursed and mocked Jesus. But the one on the right recognized his great need and humbled himself before the Lord. Regardless of our past, will we fight against God or will we surrender?
She didn’t fit in anywhere; she was an outsider. She had a bad reputation. The religious folks of her day looked down on her as an unclean sinner, a second-class citizen with no rights in a man’s world. What right did she have to even be near Jesus? Yet, her act of faith and love toward the One who first loved her is spoken of to this day. Jesus welcomed her with arms of love just as He longs to welcome each of us.
