Benvenuto nel mio podcast di lessico italiano. In questo episodio parliamo della parola "capitano". "Capitano" (accento su "ta") è un nome e si può tradurre in inglese con "Captain". Pronunciato in maniera leggermente diversa (con accento su "ca") significa "to happen" presente indicativo terza persona plurale. È molto importante fare attenzione a dove si mette l'accento parlando, anche se mentre si scrive in realtà non esiste nessuna differenza visibile tra le due parole.

"Capitano" (accent on "ta") is a name and can be translated in English with the word "Captain". With a slightly different pronunciation (accent on "ca") means "to happen" at presente indicativo third person plural. It is very important to be careful about where the accent is located while speaking, whilst it doesn't really make a difference in writing where the two words are alike.
