Le Podcast de Prêt à Parler

Manu is a busy professional who needed to prepare for his Permis C in three months' time. He has completed his 10th year in Switzerland and overall, his goal was to get A2 written and A2 oral as a result.

Your Super Prof Sandra and the whole Prêt à Parler are super proud of your achievement! Toutes nos félicitations, Manu!

Here is what he has to say about his experience learning online and preparing for his fide test with us:

"I had a great experience with regards to preparing for the French Fide exam in Switzerland. I would especially like to thank Sandra, my professor! Her approach worked very well for me as she made sure I focus on learning by doing. She tailored the course material according to my needs. Sandra found a good balance between helping me improve my overall French language skills and preparing specifically for fide exam. Thanks once again to Sandra and Prêt à Parler team!"

Michael is a retired IT engineer now focusing on developing two passions: vegan pastry  and catering as well as scuba diving. He already speaks multiple languages including English, German, and Japanese. Although his French is already good enough, he needed help in preparing for his fide test to renew his Permis B. Your Super Prof and the whole Prêt à Parler are super proud of your achievement! Toutes nos félicitations, Michael!

Here is what he has to say about his experience learning online and preparing for his exam with us:

"Whatever your goals or needs are, Prêt à Parler will get you ready. The whole learning experience for me was comfortable. My Super Prof walked me through one of the reading and writing scenarios and I was able to use my time very efficiently during my fide exam because I was already familiar with the format. In this series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Imogen Hitchcock about her successful preparation for the fide test.

Imogen is a busy entrepreneur based in the Lausanne area who, after living for 11 years in Switzerland, had to prepare for her Swiss naturalisation process. Her wish with her private French lessons was to increase her confidence when talking with her Swiss friends and neighbors about casual, but also difficult and complex topics such as politics, relationships, and... who should win Top Chef!

Imogen took her fide test on 19 May 2021 and got her B1 fide Passeport des langues in June 2021. Your Super Prof Brice and the whole Prêt à Parler are super proud of your achievement! Toutes nos félicitations, Imogen!

Here is what she has to say about her experience learning online and preparing for her exam with us:

"It’s always scary preparing for an exam but Brice is a fantastic teacher! He's incredibly patient and reassuring. The subjects we covered were all topics Brice and I had prepared for in the run-up to the exam. Once the oral exam started, I felt more confident, knowing that my conversations with Brice had been more challenging! I also loved the fact I could choose lesson times around my schedule and the personalised approach to lessons suited me perfectly. Just get in touch Prêt à Parler. You'll be matched with the right teacher for your style, your objectives, and your level."

In this series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Karen Henderson about her successful exam preparation which led her to obtain her fide Passeport des langues in December 2021.

When she contacted Prêt à Parler, Karen had already passed the written and reading part of her fide test but she needed help to pass the B1 oral part.

Her background is different from most people who come to Switzerland. Originally from the US, she grew up in a small community in southern West Virginia and came to Switzerland with her husband in 2011.

Now retired and 70, learning French was not easy for her as forgetting words and having to learn them again were added challenges. Hesitant at first, Karen booked a trial lesson and the rest was history. She took her exam at Université Populaire de Fribourg on 18 December 2021 and happily informed us in January 2022 that she had successfully passed her fide B1 test!

Your Super Prof Yohann and the whole Prêt à Parler are super proud of your achievement! Toutes nos félicitations, Karen!

In this series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Yoshiyuki Oshima his successful DELF exam preparation.

Yoshiyuki, a native Japanese speaker - who also speaks English and Spanish - is originally from Tokyo, but he has been living in Geneva, Switzerland since 2011. He took online French lessons with us with the aim to obtain the DELF B2 certificate.

Yoshiyuki passed his DELF B2 on 24 May 2022 at IFAGE in Geneva. Your Super Prof Laurence and the whole Prêt à Parler are super proud of your achievement! Toutes nos félicitations, Yoshiyuki!

Here is what he has to say about his experience learning online and preparing for his exam with us:

"After continuing my lessons with my professor, Laurence, I managed to obtain a DELF B2 certificate. This is primarily because of the teaching method that Laurence used. She taught me strategies to earn good scores by analyzing the way DELF questions are formulated and how DELF expects us to respond to them. Millions of thanks to her. Online language learning can be indeed very effective and Prêt à Parler certainly proved it! Most of all, I have gained my confidence in speaking without necessarily going out of my house.”
