  • 1. A System Of Expanding Rehearsal

    A system of expanding rehearsal

Un système de répétition en expansion

Un sistema di prove in espansione

Un sistema de ensayo en expansión

    Find me on YouTube: PolyglotChess

    Cognates:

    System.

    Expansion.

    Different

    Rehearsal, repetition, ensayo, prove

Tests. Prove. La prova. The proof.

The proof that you come to class prepared, arrive with the script learned, so you can put it into practice, and know it by heart.

    Ensayo.

    Essaye.

    Essayer. To try.

The English language adopted and transformed the word into a piece of writing where an author "tests out" or explores an idea rather than presenting a definitive treatise. That’s why we write essays.

    I write an essay.

    Ecrire ou rédiger un essai

    Escribir un ensayo

    Scrivere un saggio

    Repetition.

    Répétition

    Ripetizione

    Repetición

Repetition is the mother of mastery.

  • 31. Polyglot Chess - The Two Towers (EN, FR, SP)

Had a lot of fun playing chess and chatting in three languages, je me suis beaucoup amusé, me diverti mientras juego ajedrez y hablo en tres idiomas (mas errores pero es ok), j’ai fait des fautes mais c’est pas grave, c’est comme ça qu’on apprends.

  • 25. Compress, Compile, Consolidate (EN, FR, SP)

    1. Compress – Reduce Information Density

    • Brain handles ~4 independent ideas at once.
    • Methods:
    1. Pareto Principle (80/20 rule):
    • Identify critical 20% of concepts/skills that drive most results.
    • Delay or ignore non-critical 80%.
    • Reinforce high-impact material first; expand after mastery.
    1. Association: Connect new info to what you already know (e.g., cognates in languages).
    2. Chunking: Group words/phrases as blocks to reduce memory load and build fluency.
    • Examples: “Can I have…?”, “I would like to…”, “Where is the…?”

    2. Compile – Move from Consumption to Mastery

    • Techniques:
    • Ultradian Cycles: 90 min focus + 20 min rest.
    • Agile testing: Learn → Test → Repeat for constant feedback.
    • Slow practice: For physical or language skills, practice slowly to build precise neural circuits.
    • Immersion: Apply skills in real-life situations, not just practice.
    • Learn by teaching: Explain concepts to others or yourself to consolidate knowledge.
    • Actor insight: Separate performing from self-critique; allow mistakes before refinement.

    3. Consolidate – Prioritize Rest for Retention

    • Learning occurs in two stages: focus + rest.
    • Micro-rest: 10-sec breaks after intense learning to replay info faster.
    • Macro-rest: Non-Sleep Deep Rest (Yoga Nidra) ~20 min during day.
    • Sleep: Essential for replaying and organizing learning from the day.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Embrace friction: struggle indicates deep learning (“generation effect”).
    • Focus on self-improvement, not competition. One step at a time.
    • Repeat the 3C cycle: Compress → Compile → Consolidate
