An Illinois native, Johanna Ralsten-Cox first came to the Dade-county area in 2006 as a Youth For Christ (YFC) intern with the City Life KIX program in Homestead, Florida. The experience of sharing the Gospel in a relational context changed the trajectory of her life. She taught in Miami for two years before leading Miami YFC’s middle & high school programs in West Homestead, which served an average of 150 low-income youth each year. In 2017, she became the Ministries Director, and now oversees a team of 32 staff, 72 volunteers, and 20 ministries sites across Dade County. Johanna holds a BA in English & African American studies from Kenyon College and a master’s in Education & Social Change from the University of Miami. She is married to Justin Cox, a high school English teacher, and they are expecting their first child in December 2020.

Micah Marshall is the Executive Director and founder of Refuge Youth Network. Micah grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Zion Bible College in Haverhill, Massachusetts with a degree in Biblical Studies. He has been working with students for the last 8 years. He is the current youth pastor for three churches at New Life Worship Center, Trans4mation Church, and Community Worship Center in Tyrone.  Micah enjoys spending time with his wife Bethany and their dog, Timber.

Today we have our special guest Chris Ashman a.k.a. Blackbeard, is a US Army Veteran of 8 years and a Christian that loves America and its Judeo-Christian values and he bleeds Red, White, Blue, and Army Green. He served in the Signal Corps as a radio operator (RTO). He was born and raised in NJ and married my best friend from high school Nicole. Chris and his wife have 4 kids 1 daughter and 3 boys. He and his family currently live in Virginia. He brags that he is 6'4" and weighs 265 pounds which is the same height as Cpt. Blackbeard by the way. Chris is a licensed contractor and owner of a construction business called Soldier Home Services. He is also building more businesses online/e-commerce. The goal of his entrepreneurial spirit is to be able to provide a stable living for his family and to fund his Veteran Ministries that are under development.
