On this episode of Leadership Lessons from Mayberry you’ll get introduced to Corey Odvody, the owner of Americom.
At age 31, Odvody made the decision to buy Americom and leave his comfortable position in the corporate world. It was a decision that, while scary, was easy for Odvody to make. He was ready to try his hand at business ownership. It’s the kind of determination and risk taking that has help Corey grow his company from 4 employees to over 25 today.
Americom works with companies on network connectivity and security, business phone systems, camera and access control, data cabling and infrastructure and paging and bell systems. Corey’s company has reached beyond the private sector; Americom works with schools as well.
In this episode, produced by Grace Dunbar, you’ll hear Corey talk about:
• How important his investment for leadership training is for all of his employees
• What ABQ is and how he uses that term for all things Americom
• How his business acumen and ability to strategize has played a critical role in his success
• Why fishing and playing drums in a band help him to not only relax but helps him to spend time on thinking of how to grow his company
