Today hear from William Moore.  Will is Executive Director of the Eleanor Crook Foundation.  

The Eleanor Crook Foundation was co-founded in 1997 by Eleanor Crook and her late husband, Ambassador William H. Crook.

From the beginning, the foundation’s mission has been to end hunger and address issues of global nutrition.  For decades, Eleanor was a pioneer in advocacy for global nutrition. In addition, her family’s leadership through their grocery company, H.E.B, helped spearhead the national food banking movement.

The Crook Family remains an active leader in the global fight to end malnutrition and hunger. The Eleanor Crook Foundation board now comprises three generations of Crook family members, all of whom share Eleanor’s intense resolve that every human being has the right to a life without hunger.

Today on the Leadership Lounge with Marlowe Foster hear from Allison Strickland.  Allison is Chief Development Officer of InterAct in Wake County.  InterAct saves lives and rebuilds lives for victims of domestic or sexual violence.

Today we mourn the demise of the cooperative middle.  There is no real incentive for cooperation and deal-making, even when it is for the broader public good.  We will look at several cooperative agreements over our history where there were winners and losers, but we found a middle ground.

And please...no tears over the last new episode of 2018!  We will be back in 2019 with interviews of some of the best and brightest working for the public good.
