  • WHEN GOD IS IN THE BUSH
WHEN GOD IS IN THE BUSH. [WHEN AN ORDINARY LIFE GETS FILLED WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY GOD] Exodus 3:1–6 KJV Moses encounters an ordinary desert bush that burns without being consumed. The wonder is not the bush itself but the presence of God in the bush. After forty years on the backside of the desert, Moses learns that past failure does not cancel God's present call. When God is in the bush, God can speak through an ordinary vessel, but He must also have control of that vessel. Submission, holiness, and surrender prepare a life for service. The bush did not need to be special because the God in the bush was extraordinary. The same truth applies to believers today: God is not searching for impressive vessels as much as surrendered ones. What God claims, we yield; what we yield, He accepts; what He accepts, He fills; and what He fills, He uses. The question is not what kind of bush we are. The question is whether God has control of the bush.

  • What Did the Priests Actually Do? | Lessons from the Tabernacle
What were the duties of the priests who served God in the Tabernacle, and what can those duties teach Christians today? In this Sunday School lesson, Pastor Ed examines the responsibilities associated with the Old Testament priesthood and shows how they point to important principles of Christian service. The priests were called to approach God on behalf of the people, provide spiritual leadership, encourage God's people, deal with uncleanness, call the people together, and serve according to God's instructions. The lesson challenges us to consider an important question: If God has called us to serve Him, what does faithful service actually require? Join us as we study Numbers 4:47-49 and related passages and examine the Tabernacle, the priesthood, and their lessons for believers today. Topics: The Tabernacle, Old Testament priesthood, Christian service, spiritual leadership, holiness, worship, and our responsibilities toward others.

  • The Ministry and Work of the Holy Spirit
The sermon explores the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer, emphasizing that possession of the Spirit must be accompanied by walking in His leadership. It outlines three primary functions of the Spirit: drawing non-believers to Christ through conviction, indwelling and instructing believers, and producing spiritual fruit while convicting them of sin. The preacher contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit, urging listeners to recognize the internal battle as evidence of the Spirit's presence rather than a sign of failure. By using the metaphor of a check engine light, the message highlights how the Holy Spirit alerts believers to areas needing correction and growth. Ultimately, the text calls for daily submission to the Spirit's guidance to achieve victory over sin and demonstrate Christ-like character.

  • Waffling Leadership—Its Causes, Corrupting Effects, and Cures
We have been working our way through the book of 2 Samuel in our morning sermons. The focus of the section we are in now is the sin in David's home because of his sin. With chapter 13, we have seen the beginnings of these troubles, first with the rape of David's daughter Tamar by here half-brother Amnon, followed by the vigilante murder of Amnon by Absalom. Today, we take up chapter 14, we see David waffling and therefore easily manipulated.

  • GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE
GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE. Exodus 3:1–6, 11–15; 4:28–31 KJV In Exodus 3 and 4, God met Moses during an ordinary day and called him from the burning bush. Moses learned that God is holy, personal, and sufficient. When Moses asked, "Who am I?" God answered with the greater truth: "Certainly I will be with thee." God then revealed Himself as "I AM THAT I AM," showing that Moses's calling depended not upon Moses's strength but upon God's character and presence. Moses eventually carried God's message to Israel, the people believed, and they worshipped. The lesson reminds us that God speaks through the truth of His Word. Our responsibility is to listen reverently, trust Him completely, obey what He says, and share His truth with others. God speaks; we listen; we respond.
