It isn’t about you!

Humans going through change are angry at the situation and their own response to it.

We don’t get up in the morning, look in the mirror and head to work to be bad people, stuff just happens and gets in our way.

Or we don’t have great survival skills, yet.

Don’t take it personally.

Be empathetic, but don’t take on the other persons pain.

Time is a great healer.

Our brains are overloaded. Our modern world is tough.

Things are coming at us from every angle. We struggle to prioritise.

Make it easy for your team and changes are more likely to be adopted.

Learn how to simplify, use the power of three to build simple statements and be consistent; repeat, repeat, repeat.

Work smarter, not harder

And look after you. Give your brain the chance to catch up.

We have choices.
We may not like our choices, but we always have choices.
Do not feel a victim, or pressured into a choice that you don’t want to make.
Sometimes our best choice is the least-worst choice. Perfection isn’t always possible.
Know you always have a choice and use your choices wisely.

Give yourself space to think and for decision-making, especially at critical points in a change or times of crisis.

Quick decisions are often poor decisions. Find the balance.

Time and space gives your brain a chance to weigh up your options. Don’t rush it.

Embrace a moment. Even better, sleep on it or take a walk. Give yourself time.

Your leadership will be better for it.
