That same album became the first album by a Black woman to spend 500 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, only to be beaten nine years later. Most importantly, it became one of the blueprints for multi‐dimensional portrayals of Black women in global music.

I'm all for cleaning turkey, but I think we're missing the bigger picture of cultural practices and how scientific research gets communicated to different groups.
