League Two Lowdown

With only two games played in League Two this week due to it being FA Cup weekend, and with some clubs not playing at all, Jordan is joined by Luke, Keiron and Jack (making his FTF debut) to take a look back at their start of season predictions, and how on target or wide off the mark they thought certain teams would be heading into the festive period.

With Storm Bert ripping through the country and taking down three games in it’s path, Jordan, Jake and Luke return to take a look at the weekends action, which include Swindon losing a crunch match with Morecambe which involves a lengthy discussion about Ian Holloway’s side, Colchester’s wait for a win is over as they claim victory at Grimsby (to the dismay of Jordan), as well as big victories for Walsall, Chesterfield and Harrogate. The hosts also take a look at a huge game taking place on Monday night between Port Vale and Crewe Alexandra.

After a week away due to it being FA Cup weekend (in which Grimsby lost to a struggling National League side), Jordan, Jake and Keiron return to talk about the return of the fourth division, including Port Vale’s unbeaten run coming to an end, Morecambe and Carlisle leaving it late to pick up huge victories down at the bottom of the table, and Tranmere scoring more than one goal to win a football match.

With Grimsby playing MK Dons over the weekend, Luke is clearly more upbeat than Jordan on this one, as the two dive into the events at Blundell Park, as well as the rest of the action in League Two, including another Port Vale win (they’ve been pretty good at that recently), Doncaster taking down Bradford in a Yorkshire derby, and Ian Holloway, looking like a Boy George tribute act, might as well have started work as Swindon manager on Saturday than his planned start date of Monday.

The two also take a closer look at the situation at Carlisle United, and discuss if Mike Williamson is already on thin ice at the club following yet another defeat.

It’s been all change over Swindon Town. The club, who sit in 22nd in the League Two table have made the decision to part ways with manager Mark Kennedy and replace him with… Ian Holloway? (That’s not a typo btw)

Jordan, Jake and Luke waited way over an hour than originally scheduled due to Keiron’s appalling university accommodation Wi-Fi but when he did eventually join (via a hotspot in the end), the hosts talked about Darren Moore’s impact as Port Vale go top of the league, Morecambe FINALLY getting that first win under their belts and if Carlisle are in a relegation battle after another defeat, this time, to AFC Wimbledon who returned home following their pitch being destroyed by a flood.

A few other things that were also discussed included a Swindon win in which they’re nearly threw away, an eventful contest in the East Midlands, and Jordan getting one over Jake with Grimsby victorious at Salford.
