  • ASHWIN MAKES IT TO THE T20 SQUAD. SOME SURPRISES BY INDIAN SELECTORS.

India announced their 18-member squad, including reserves, on Wednesday night. This squad will play in the T20 WORLD CUP 2021, taking place in the UAE and Oman in the months of October-November. Selectors have given a shock to people as well as some players. The following are the squad’s two most important announcements:

Ravichandran Ashwin will return to white ball cricket after a four-year absence. Ashwin played his last white ball match in the Champions Trophy final against Pakistan. After that, the experienced offspinner did not get a chance to play.

As you have probably heard, powerful people make powerful places. This quote is surely in use by the BCCI. MS Dhoni is mentoring India’s squad for the World Cup. Under his leadership, India has won all the major ICC events.

  • T20 World Cup: Dhoni is BACK!!!

Former captain MS Dhoni will be back withinside the Team India dugout — this time, as a mentor for the T20 World Cup.

Sources stated India’s choking in white-ball cricket in ICC tournaments under captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri is one of the key elements in the back of the selection.

The team has both fallen on the very last hurdle or did not make it to the very last hurdle of the Champions Trophy, and World T20 and 50-over World Cups.

Kohli hasn’t even led Royal Challengers Bangalore to an IPL title. Dhoni, who leads Chennai Super Kings, is a 3-time IPL-winning captain and has delivered domestically. He also has 3 ICC trophies — World T20, Champions Trophy and the World Cup.

    BCCI looking for the win

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated the selection to name up the 40-year-old retired global and the country’s most-celebrated white-ball cricketer after he met Dhoni in Dubai, wherein IPL teams have begun training to finish the incomplete Covid-hit Season 14.

The BCCI is hopeful that Dhoni will assist Kohli crack the white-ball code“No one can guide this Indian team better than Dhoni. He has plenty of experience and the players trust him a lot. His presence in the dugout will help players and support staff. Jay (Shah) felt that Dhoni is the only person who can help the team during the T20 World Cup, so he dialled him,”a BCCI source stated.

Besides, with Shastri’s tenure finishing after the T20 World Cup, and the BCCI now no longer eager to resume his contract. Dhoni’s appointment could be vital to fill in temporary roles.

  • England Vs India Test Series: 5th Test Preview

A lackluster performance in the 4th test after taking the lead in the first innings. England will be looking to bounce back in the series to level it at 2-2. England camp would be devastated after what happened at the Oval two days ago. Taking the lead in the first innings and then failing to capitalise on the chances to take wickets. A lot of things swayed away from the english side.

On the other hand the Indian camp is joyous and relieved after a devastating performance in the Leeds test. India managed to bounce back and win the test match against a relentless english that was ready to dismantle them again.

India will not be looking to introduce big changes in the squad before locking horns with England for the final test at Old Trafford. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and left-arm spinner Jack Leech have been roped in by England for the final test.

The last Test of the series among India and England will be played in Manchester from September 10. For both the groups, this challenge will be something big. India will go all guns blazing to win the match whereas England will look to avoid a famous loss. It’s a task for team India to figure out how to dominate the game and make history by sealing the series 3-1.

Batsman Sam Billings has been sent back to play county cricket. Buttler, who was out of the fourth Test in light of the introduction of his second child, will be seen playing in the last Test. England lost the fourth Test against India by 157 runs. With this huge win, India have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. England needs to dominate the last game to even out the series.

    England Squad Details:

Joe Root (Captain), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Ronnie Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Karen, Haseeb Hameed, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leech, David Malan, Craig Overtone, Oli Pope, Oli Robinson, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood.
