Lean Into the Messy

In January 2023, Kay faced a health crisis.

Despite multiple ER visits and rehab stays, her condition worsened until a life-saving surgery was performed. Throughout this time, their church community provided unwavering support, offering prayers, meals, and assistance with household tasks. Al, though initially overwhelmed, found strength through the encouragement and presence of others, while Kay experienced peace through God’s presence.

Their journey emphasized the importance of faith, community, and accepting help in times of crisis.

In this episode, we lean into the messy with Andrew and Jenny, missionaries who serve in the Arab world.

Andrew opens up about how he and Jenny were certain God was calling them to missions and how they connected with Live Dead, an initiative focused on planting churches among unreached people groups through team efforts.

He also shares the personal challenges of living with a motor neuron disease and how both he and Jenny have navigated this struggle while continuing their work on the field.

In part 2 of his story, we lean into the messy with Joe Anderson, pastor, author, husband, and father. Joe's life has been riddled with pain, years of suffering, loss, and unbelievable tragedy. In this episode, Joe shares about the early days of meeting his wife, their marriage, and how the power of community was crucial to overcoming some of its challenges.

"No matter what you're going through, if two people are surrendered to Jesus, anything is possible."

In episode 14, we lean into the messy with Pastor Dan Parotti, who completed a 63-day motorcycle trip from the state of Minnesota to the country of Brazil. He shares about his experience journeying through 13 countries (not including the U.S.), and how one factor almost prevented him from beginning the journey.
