This lesson covers the 11th hadeeth, narrated by Al-Hasan Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Taalib, “I memorised from the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) the saying: “leave that which doubts you for that which doesn’t doubt you”. This is the first hadeeth that is not from the saheehayn (in Saheeh Bukhari & Saheeh Muslim). This lesson covers the 12th hadeeth, narrated by Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: “From the perfection and completion of a person’s Islam is him leaving that which doesn’t concern him”.

This lesson discusses ahadeeth which bring about good mannerisms, from them are the narration: “Whoever believes in Allaah and the last day, let him speak good or remain silent” and the narration discussed in this lesson.

Abu Humayd also covers the 13th hadeeth, narrated by Anas Ibn Malik that the Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “one of you does not believe up until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself”. To love for your brother what you love for yourself is something which is obligatory in the matters of religion. As for the worldly matters, that is recommended to love for your brother what you want for yourself, for example to have a good job. A person who does not love for their brother what they love for themselves, has not reached the complete state of Eemaan.

The origin of performing good deeds is that one rushes and hastens towards it, not that a person gives preference to someone else over them.

This lesson covers the 19th hadeeth, narrated by Abil Abbaas Abdillah Ibn Abbaas: “I was behind the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and he said: “Oh young boy. I shall teach you some words. Protect and preserve Allaah. He will preserve and protect you. You will find Him before. And if you ask, then ask Allaah, and if you seek aid, then seek aid with Allaah. Know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with something they will not benefit you, except for what Allaah has written for you. And if all the nation were to gather to harm you with something, they will not be able to do so, except what Allaah has written for you. The pens have been lifted, and the scrolls have dried”. This lesson covers the 25th hadeeth narrated by Abu Dharr: “A group of companions said: “The people of wealth have taken all of the reward. They pray as we pray, and they fast as we fast, and they give in charity with that surplus wealth they possess, that we don’t possess”. The Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “Has Allaah not made that with which you can give in charity? Indeed, with every tasbeeh (saying Subhaanallaah), that is charity, and every takbeer (saying Allaahu Akbar) is sadaqa, and every time you say Alhamdulillah, that is charity, and every statement of shahada is charity, and to command with good and forbid from evil is charity. And in one of you having relations with your wife is charity”. This lesson also covers the 26th hadeeth narrated by Abu Hurairah: The Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “Every sulamah (bodily joint) of the human, there is upon it, charity every day on which the sun rises. That you reconcile and rectify between two people, that is charity. That you aid a man concerning his riding beast, or that you lift for him his possessions and you place them on top of his riding beast, that is charity. And saying a good word is charity, and every step you take towards the masjid for the prayer is sadaqa. And when you remove something harmful from the road, that is charity”. Ustaadh Abu Humayd explains the term ‘sulamah’ and explains the rest of the hadeeth.

The 31st hadeeth is narrated by Abil Abbaas Sahl Ibn Sa’d Sa’di: A man came to the Messenger of Allaah Sallallaahu Alayahi Wa Sallam and said: “inform me of an action that if I was to perform it, then Allaah will love me, and also the people will love me”. The Messenger of Allaah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “abstain and stay away from the dunya, and Allaah will love you. Likewise, stay away from that which is in the hands of the people”. After relaying the hadeeth, Abu Humayd narrates a brief biography of the narrator of this hadeeth, as well as some benefits that can be derived from this hadeeth, such as it being pleasurable to seek the pleasure of the people. Abu Humayd also explains the meaning of the word “abstain” used in this hadeeth.

The 32nd hadeeth is narrated by Abu Sa’eed Sa’d Ibn Malik Ibn Sinaan Al-Khudri: The Messenger of Allaah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: There is no causing/initiating of harm, and there is no harm to be caused in retaliation.

This lesson covers the 33rd hadeeth, narrated by Abdullah Ibn Abbaas, that The Messenger of Allaah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “If the people were to be given according to their claims, then there would be men who would claim the wealth of other people, and their blood. However, the burden of proof is upon the claimant, and upon the one who denies a claim is the taking of an oath.” Imam Nawawi explains the authenticity of this hadeeth and the wordings that have been narrated. Abu Humayd also goes through the explanation of the origin of the people, why the hadeeth is worded with ‘men who would claim’ rather than stating ‘people who would claim’ and what this entails.
