  • The Station of Women in Islam - Abu Humayd Saalim | Manchester
This lecture deals with the status that Islam gives to the Muslim woman and the importance of her role in society.
Islam has ennobled the woman, fortified her position and raised her rank. It has commanded us to be good towards her.
In the times of jaaliyah she had no rights. When they had a female child, they buried her alive, for fear of being “dishonoured”. She had no rights to inheritance at all. She was treated like a slave. Islam came to raise her.
Even in the West, women have only recently gained the right to inheritance.
Islam allowed the women to seek a divorce, whereas this was only allowed recently in the west.
Regarding the pagan Arabs, Allah says: “And if one of them is informed of the news of (the birth of) that which he set forth as a parable to the Most Beneficent (Allâh) (i.e. of a girl), his face becomes dark, gloomy, and he is filled with grief!” (Az-Zukhruf 43:17)
Based on a lecture by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Haadee.

  • The Call To Tawheed - Abu Humayd Saalim | Gloucester
The statements of the Prophet, peace be upon him, have been preserved word for word in the language it came in.
The Testification of faith, Laa illaaha illa Allaah, was mentioned commonly by the Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa sallam and is frequently on the tongue of the Muslim. These few words are the most important words a person could ever say in this life. These words, are not restricted to the Prophet of Islam, rather they are the words of all of the Prophets and the Messengers.
These words, in short known as "Tawheed", mean to single out Allaah in worship.
As Muslims, we believe we are a creation and we have a Creator. This creation is that which points towards a Creator.
Our natural disposition directs us to believing in The Creator.
The speakers also discusses the beliefs of the Atheists and Christians and how a Muslim should respond to them.
It's mentioned in the Quran that Jesus said to his people:
"Whoever associates partners with God, Allaah has made forbidden for him Paradise"
    Allaah says:
"Allaah does not forgive that partners are set up besides Him, but he forgives what is lesser than that"

  • Achieving a Righteous Home and Children - Rayaan Barker | Manchester
    Women in Islam Conference
Islam shows care and attention to the family. A society consists of families and families consist of individuals. Just as a building is built on a foundations, society is built on its foundations – individuals and families.
Islam commands both husband and wife that they treat each other in a good befitting manner, with mercy and kindness. They are the foundation of the family.
Indeed Allah is with those who have taqwa and those who do good. (surah: verse). This is not complete until both husband and wife fulfil their rights.
A husband and wife should discuss their expectations of each other and their roles. This will avoid crossing each other.
The home should be built on tawheed, imaan, the remembrance of Allah and seeking knowledge in order to be successful. By this, they will attain Allah’s pleasure.
From the best of ways to remind each other is to seek knowledge and to share it. The man who goes to the masjid to seek knowledge should take his family with him. If he can’t, he should share it with them when they go home.
Knowledge is also the right of the women and the children – that they are taught correct Islamic teachings.
“The best of you are the best of you to your wives and I am the best to my wives.” – this hadith is a clear indication that a man should treat his wife well.
“The most complete of the believers in imaan are those who are best in manners and the best of you are those of you who are the best with their womanfolk.”
Both husband and wife should continuously make dua to have righteous children – even before they are blessed with children. This is the example of the messengers.

  • Central Manchester Dawah Event - Ustadh Abu Humayd Saalim - Islam - The Religion of the Prophets
This is the second of two talks held at the Central Manchester Dawah Event in South Manchester on Friday 14th of April 2017.
    Ustadh Abu Humayd discusses;
    • From the Sunnah of Allaah was to send Prophets and Messengers from the beginning of time with guidance for the people to follow.
    • The call that the Prophets and Messengers were all sent with, generally (To worship Allaah alone) and sometimes specifically (exactly what they said).
    • The claim of the Christians that Allaah is one of 3 and the falsity of this claim.
    • The fact that the origin (the “Usool”) of this world was Tawhid and it was Shirk that entered upon it (the “Dukhool”).
    • After Isa Alayhis Salaam left his people, they soon fell into shirk. They went into extremes with their priests and righteous men. The same has happened in our Ummah.
    • We affirm that there are allies of Allaah but we do not worship them.
    • The Quran brings absolute clarity, unlike the Bible.
    • Where salvations lies (The two testifications of faith).
    • The fact that some of the people proclaiming Islam have fallen into shirk, worshipping the Prophet Alayhis Salaatu was Salaam, whilst simultaneously refuting the Christians for refuting Isa Alayhis Salaam!
    • The reality of this Ummah splitting into sects, and what the Prophet Alayhis Salaatu was Salaam advised us with in order to be from the saved sect.
    • The importance of clinging to the understanding of the companions of the Prophet Alayhis Salaatu was Salaam.
    • The people of innovation will be prevented from drinking from the Pond (Hawdh) on the Day of Ressurection.
    • The Prophet Alayhis Salaatu Was Salaam was sent as a mercy to mankind, however, when it came to the religion of Allaah and those who tried to change it, then you find that he was stern against them and would not except or allow change to the Message.

  • Central Manchester Dawah Event - Ustadh Rayaan Barker - What is Islam?
This is the first of two talks held at the Central Manchester Dawah Event in South Manchester on Friday 14th of April 2017.
    Ustadh Rayaan discusses;
    • The fact the purpose of life is to worship Allaah and the definition of worship, linguistically and legislatively.
    • How shaytaan tricked a nation into falling into shirk for the very first time, Prophet Nuh Alayhis Salaam was then sent to that very nation to call them back to Tawheed.
    • The nature of all the religions of the Prophets and Messengers being one, calling to Tawheed.
    • The reality of the people having free will and weakness in their heart, despite Allaah blessing us with intellect and a natural disposition to worship their Lord alone.
    • The Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam called the people to the fundamental message of Islam (Tawheed) for 13 years highlighting to us the importance of it.
    • The Mushrikeen at the time of the Prophet affirmed the Ruboobiyyah (Lordship) of Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalah, but they had misconceptions and doubts in their minds regarding the other false deities they used to worship. Their justifications of shirk were rebuked by Allaah in the Quran.
    • Even the Mushrikin understood the true meaning of the Shaahadah, that "There is no deity worthy of worship, in truth, except Allaah". This is why they refused to declare it, they were not willing to abandon their false deities.
    • The nature of this dunya, being a place of trials and tribulations. What is upon us is to stick to the legislation of Allaah and His Messenger Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam.
    • What are the sources of our religion?
    • How the Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam would forbid certain things whilst the companions were new to Islam, to strengthen their Tawheed first before allowing those same things for a wisdom (e.g. visiting the graves).
    • The plot of shaytaan to direct the people to making dua to others by making them think their dua won’t be answered due to their sins.
    • Where does rectification of the heart lie?
    • Some distinguishing features of this religion, including;
o Preservation of the sources of our religion
o Specific acts of worship established throughout the day
o Guiding to the middle path in all affairs
o Encouraging justice for muslims and non muslims
    o And others
