  • Healing in Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah - Rayaan Barker | Mancester
There is no Muslim affected by an affliction, except that Allah wipes away from this person his sins, like the tree sheds its leaves. From wisdom is that a person who is afflicted with illnesses is that Allah raises a person by way of it.
Seek cure by the Quran: Legislated Ruqya, there is no harm in using remedies. The Messenger of Allah said "Use remedies but don't use haram remedies". Using remedies has a great benefit, for the afflicted person and his families, using remedies is from the means to acquiring a cure.
    Tawakkul comprises of two affairs:
    1. Reliance upon Allah
    2. Taking the means
Allah is the one who created the cure and methods of healing. Cure comes from Allah alone, Allah is the one who makes remedies successful
Diseases are of 2 types, Heart and Body. Diseases of the hearts are 2 types: Shubuhaat (doubts) Shahawaat (desires) both are mentioned in the Quran. Shaykh Uthaymeen, said diseases of the heart are to be given precedence, due to them leading to the hellfire.
Ruqya, a person should recite Quran for their ownself, before asking someone else, someone else who is of sound aqeedah. Shaykh Fawzaan: Ruqya can be performed directly on the sick, or recited onto water they drink. The raaqi must be a person of sound aqeedah, not a person of shirk or innovation. Ruqya should be performed in Arabic, not in any other language or indiscernible utterances.
Shaykh Bin baz, importance should be given to Suraah Al Faatiha and suratun Naas, Suratul Falaq and Suratul Ikhlaas. Whoever wears an amulet, has fallen into shirk and has ascribed partners to Allah, everything that is haraam, then we can not use as a cure. We can not use khamr, intoxicants as a cure; marijuana, Alcohol etc.
    Honey:
Regarding Honey: There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. (An-Nahl 16:69)
    Hijaamah:
There is a lot of emphasis in the Sunnah about it and is one of the best cures. The Angels told the prophet (peace be upon him) to command his nation with it. (Authenticated by al Albaani).

  • 50 - Kitaab at-Tawheed - Uways at-Taweel | Nigeria
Chapter 38: Whoever obeys the Scholars and the Rulers, forbidding what Allah has made permissible and permitting what He has made forbidden, has certainly taken them as Lords (besides Allah)
Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
"(It may be that) Stones are soon to descend upon you from the heavens! I say to you: 'Allah's Messenger (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said...' and you say to me: 'Abu Bakr and Umar said!?"
Ahmad bin Hanbal (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
I am astonished at a people who know the chain of transmission (of a Hadith) and its authenticity but nevertheless follow the opinion of Sufyan (Ath-Thauri) while Allah the Most High says: "Let those who oppose his (the Messenger's) commandment (orders, statements, etc.) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, affliction) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them." (24:63) Do you know what the Fitnah is? Al-Fitnah is Shirk. May be the rejection of some of his words would cause one to have doubt and deviation in his heart and thereby be destroyed.
It is narrated from Adi bin Hatim (May Allah be pleased with him) : I heard the Prophet (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) read this verse:
"They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, and Messiah -son of Maryam, while they were commanded to worship none but One Ilah (God Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)". (9:31)
So I said to him (May Allah be pleased with him)' "Verily, we did not worship them," to which he replied,
"Did they not make Haram what Allah made Halal so you then made it Haram, and (did they not) make Halal what Allah made Haram and you therefore made it Halal?" I said, "Yes." He said, "That is worshipping them."

  • 16 - Book of Tawheed - Sahih al-Bukhari - Abu Muadh Taqweem | Manchester
    Sahih al-Bukhari – The Book of Tawheed – Lesson 16 (11/03/17)
Chapter 9: The Statement of Allah: "And Allah is Ever All-Hearer All-Seer”. (An-Nisaa’ 4:134)
    Today we covered:
    • The Tawheed of Allah’s Names and Attributes
    Explanation by Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen:
    • The meaning of "La hawla wala quwwatta illa billah (There is neither might nor power but with Allah)."
    • The explanation of where Allah is:
o Surah Kahf “Allah is closer to you than your own jugular vein.”
o The closest a slave is to Allah is when they are in prostration
o Understanding the one who says Allah is everywhere.
    • How Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه got his title “as-Siddiq.”
    • The supplication to be read during prostration:
o The explanation of the supplication
o The rulings and virtues on making du’aa during prostration
o Mentioning the names of Allah relevant to the du’aa
    • Explanation of the hadeeth that proves Allah hears all.
Hadith 1: narrated by Narrated Abu Musa:
We were with the Prophet on a journey, and whenever we ascended a high place, we used to say, "Allahu Akbar." The Prophet said, "Don't trouble yourselves too much! You are not calling a deaf or an absent person, but you are calling One Who Hears, Sees, and is very near." Then he came to me while I was saying in my heart, "La hawla wala quwwatta illa billah (There is neither might nor power but with Allah)." He said, to me, "O 'Abdullah bin Qais! Say, 'La hawla wala quwwata illa billah (There is neither might nor power but with Allah), for it is one of the treasures of Paradise." Or said, "Shall I tell you of it?"
    • From the first hadith, we learn when ascending we say Allahu Akbar, due to Allah’s Greatness and when descending we say SubhaanAllah, because in general going down denotes deficiency so we say SubhaanAllah – Allah is free from any deficiency
    • Benefit from Shaykh Uthaymeen, saying Allahu Akbar when going up in a plane and SubhaaanAllah when descending can be done
    • The prophet highlighted that we don’t need to raise our voices loud and burden ourselves, for Allah hears and Allah is near
o What does this mean, that Allah is near?
    o Is Allah everywhere?
    o Is Allah below us?
o Is Allah the same location as us? Equal to us?
Next week: We will finish the section of Allah Hearing and Seeing, and then begin the section on Allah Forgiving
