Noget let industri foregår fortsat i byen.

Frederiksberg is a separate town within the borders of Copenhagen, it has its own mayor and is the smallest municipality in Denmark.
The tiny town takes up less than nine square kilometers, although its population is more than 100,000.
It is essentially an enclave within Denmark's capital city, and there is no obvious border separating it from the rest of the city and its other districts.
Informally, many Danes consider Frederiksberg to be a district of Copenhagen, and there are many points of interest actually located in the town, including the Copenhagen Zoo.The town's history dates back as far as 1651.
That's when King Frederik III allowed 20 peasants of Danish and Dutch descent the rights to form a settlement there.
The town they founded on the site was named Ny Amager, but in 1697 a fire devastated the town, leaving the peasants who lived there unable to pay their taxes.
As a result, their land reverted back to King Christian V, who was King Frederik III's son.
King Christian V's son, King Frederik IV, constructed a palace at the top of Valby Bakke between 1700 and 1703, calling the palace Frederiks Berg.
After the palace was built, the town's name was changed to Frederiksberg.
It had been rebuilt on the site after the fire destroyed it.
Gradually the town grew from a small farming community into a town of merchants and craftsmen.
Today, however, most of the town is residential homes of three to five stories each, as well as homes for single family homes and big parks.
Some light industry does remain in the town still though.

Sofia: Ja, bare for at forbedre sine chancer i fremtiden.
    ----Formal English----
Sophia: Have you gotten an answer about your application? I think you seem a little depressed.
Emily: Yes, I spoke to my boss earlier today, and she has chosen one of the male applicants.
Sophia: No way! I would think you were the obvious candidate for the job. You're already an intern.
Emily: Yes, but it can be hard for women in their 20s to become permanently employed.
Sophia: Because of too little experience...?
Emily: No, because we haven't had any children yet.
Sophia: Surely, there are many women our age who can get jobs, even though they don't have children.
Emily: Yes, but they might not be in a committed relationship. I thought as much, and I should have kept silent.
Sophia: I still think you’ll get furthest with honesty. Even though it can be frustrating.
Emily: I think it would be strange having to keep a boyfriend or husband a secret.
Sophia: Yes, just to improve your chances in the future. You could also just have children now.
Emily: Ha ha, very funny! Jon would run away screaming.
Sophia: But then you won't be in a committed relationship any longer either. I think we've found a solution! Cheers!
