سٹرنگز دو گلوکاروں پر مشتمل پاپ راک بَینڈ ہے جن کے ساتھ لائیو مظاہروں میں چار اور موسیقار شریک ہوتے ہیں۔

اس کے ابتدائی مراحل میں بَینڈ چار ممبران پر مشتمل تھا، سب کالج کے طلباء تھے ووکلسٹ اور گٹارسٹ بلال مقصود، ووکلسٹ فیصل کپاڈیا، سنتھیسائزر پلیئر رفیق وزیر علی، اور بیس پلیئر کریم بشیر بھائی۔

بَینڈ کی تشکیل کے وقت مقصود کے والد نے ان کے لیے گانے لکھے۔

اپنے ابتدائی مرحلے میں، سٹرنگز ابتدائی پاکستانی پاپ تحریک کی پشت پر سوار تها.

بَینڈ کے دو سابقہ ممبران نے اپنی دوستی جاری رکھی اور بَینڈ کے ٹوٹنے کے آٹھ سال بعد واپس دوبارہ اکٹھے ہونے سے پہلے کچھ عرصہ انہوں نے ایک ہی کمپنی میں کام کیا۔

تاہم سال 2000 میں پاکستانی موسیقی کی صنعت ایک اور انقلابات سے گزر رہی تھی اور مقصود اور کپاڈیا نے علی اور بھائی، جو اس وقت دستیاب نہ تھے، کے بغیر سٹرنگز نام استعمال کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

Strings is a pop rock duo from Pakistan accompanied by four other musicians for live appearances.

In its embryonic stage, the band was made up of four members, all college students, vocalist and guitarist Bilal Maqsood, vocalist Faisal Kapadia, synthesizer player Rafiq Wazir Ali, and bass player Kareem Bashir Bhai.

At the time of the band's formation, Maqsood's father penned the lyrics for their songs.

In its initial stage, Strings rode on the back of the early Pakistani pop movement.

In 1992, Maqsood directed a music video that was a hit throughout Pakistan, and Strings toured the country, releasing hit after hit.

The band's fame did not last long, however, and the band disbanded in 1992.

All four members went back to educational institutes to complete their education.

Kapadia studied business in the U.S., while Maqsood spent some time as a creative director for an ad agency upon graduation.

The two former band members continued their friendship and worked for the same company for some time before reuniting for a comeback eight years after the band broke up.

Strings' reputation had understandably waned during the eight years the band was in hiatus.

However, in the year 2000, the Pakistani music industry was going through another upheaval, and Maqsood and Kapadia decided to take up the name Strings again without Ali and Bhai, who were unavailable at the time.

The reformed Strings ushered in Pakistani pop music's revival after regaining its reputation.

Their music fuses Western sounds with classical Eastern music, resulting in a combination of the East's tranquil style with the West's complex guitar riffs.
