ٹیکسلا پاکستان کے محکمہ آثار قدیمہ کی کھدائی والی سب سے اہم جگہوں میں سے ایک ہے، اور اس وجہ سے یہ ایک مقبول سیاحی مقام بھی ہے۔

یہ اسلام آباد سے تقریبا 20 میل دور شمال مغرب میں پنجاب کے راولپنڈی ضلع میں واقع ہے۔

ٹیکسلا کا قدیم شہر مرکزی اور جنوبی ایشیاء کے درمیان ایک اہم مقام پر واقع ہے۔

چونکہ فوجی مصلحت کے لحاظ سے یہ ایک عمدہ جگہ ہے، اس لئے بہت سی توسیع پسندانہ سلطنتوں نے اس پر کنٹرول حاصل کرنے کی کوششیں کی۔

Taxila is home to one of Pakistan's most important archeological dig sites, and as such, it is also a popular tourist destination.

It's located in Punjab's Rawalpindi District approximately 20 miles northwest of Islamabad.

The ancient city of Taxila sat at a critical junction point between Central and South Asia.

Because of its strategic location, many empires with expansionist designs vied for control over it.

Archeologists estimate that the earliest civilizations at Taxila date to the Sixth Century BCE during the epoch of the Achaemenid Empire.

Over time, the Silk Road trade route, which passed through Taxila, grew less and less important, and eventually the city became insignificant, and in the Fifth Century, the nomadic Huns destroyed it.

In the mid-1800s, Sr. Alexander Cunningham, the eminent archeologist, unearthed the ruins of the city.

UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1980, and in 2006, The Guardian denominated it as Pakistan's top tourist destination.

In 2010, the Global Heritage Fund listed Taxila among the 12 sites in the world that were the most ""on the verge"" of irrevocable loss.

The organization listed the main threats to the site as paltry management, pressure from developments in the area, conflict and war, and despoiling.

The archeological dig at Taxila is colossal and includes a cave dating from the Mesolithic era and the ancient remains of four settlements.

There are also signs of a Muslum madrassa and mosque, and Buddhist monasteries located on the site.

The four settlements at Taxila illustrate how urban life evolved over 500 years on the Indian subcontinent.

اونچی برف پوش چوٹیوں کا ایک سلسلہ، جس میں سے چند کی اونچائی سطح سمندر سے 13,000 فٹ سے زیادہ ہے، گھاٹیوں کو تقسیم کرتا ہے۔

Neelum Valley is a thickly wooded gorge located in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.

The Neelam River flows at the bottom of the coulee, which runs equidistant to Kaghan Valley.

A series of high snowy peaks, some of which are more than 13,000 feet above sea level, partition the ravines.

Neelum is home to a number of lodges and private hotels which cater to the dozens of historic places that are inside the valley.

The temple of Sharada Peeth, which is located in the town of Sharda, is considered to be one of Neelam Valley's most prepossessing and important historic places there.

Sharada Peeth sits close to the Line of Control that divides Azad Kashmir, which is administered by Pakistan, from Jammu and Kashmir, which are controlled by India.

Sharada Peeth was built to honor the Hindu goddess Sarasvati, also known as Sharda, and it's situated right on the banks of the Neelum River.

Other points of interest in Neelum Valley include the hamlet of Kundal Shahi, which also sits on the bank of the Neelum River, and Athmuqam, which is the valley's main town and Neelum District's headquarters.

Kutton, which is also referred to as Jagran Valley, is also located inside Neelum.

It's both a resort and village.

Arang Kel, another tourist destination that's especially alluring due to the lush vegetation and knolls, is also in Neelum Valley.

Neelum also holds several lakes, including Chitta Katha Lake and Shonter Lake, both of which are located in Shonter Valley, which is inside of Neelum Valley.

Ratti Gali Lake and Saral Lake are also located in Neelum Valley.
