Yasmin Rivera (she/ella) graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University in May 2020. As a first-generation Latina, she constantly felt out of place in her classes, and imposter syndrome continuously set in. During her junior year, Yasmin stumbled upon a student organization called the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), which provides resources and professional development to advance the Latinx community.
Yasmin had the opportunity to serve as President of the ALPFA Arizona State University chapter and focused on connecting as many first-generation students with these resources. During her tenure, she concentrated on student development and building a strong membership base. Upon graduation, Yasmin transitioned to the professional Phoenix board, where she oversees student and corporate development.
Yasmin recently pivoted from corporate finance into diversity and inclusion, where she focuses on building diverse talent pipelines. As a side hustle, she helps entrepreneurs optimize their business goals as a tech VA. Be sure to stay connected to her Instagram and newsletter for career and business tips!
