After some of Jesus’ sharpest rebukes in Matthew 23, we’re met with something unexpected: grief. In just a few verses, Jesus reveals a tender, longing heart -- one that is deeply compassionate toward His people.

In this episode, we slow down and camp in Matthew 23:37–39, exploring God’s original design for worship, how we’ve often substituted it with our own version, and the gentle invite of Jesus to come, remain, and receive His care. This is a reminder that our Protector, Provider, and Comforter longs to gather us close — but we must be willing.

1. Is there any area of your life where you’ve shifted from God’s design to your own version of it?

2. Where might Jesus be longing to gather you close, but you’ve been unwilling to receive His care?

3. What would it look like for you to truly come to Jesus — and remain ("abide") in Him — today?
