Welcome to another episode in the “Getting to know….” series from Grant Francis and Go Fly. Squadron Leader John Sharp is a well known face at Old Sarum. He is the curator, director and driving force behind the amazing Boscombe Down Aviation Collection. Hidden behind the doors of what looks like a small portacabin, is an incredible collection of aviation history spanning two enormous aircraft hangars, from clothing and models to complete cockpits and aircraft that you can get up-close and personal with. There are no barriers meaning you can indulge your senses and explore, touch and climb into many of the exhibits. When you visit the airfield, this collection forms part of the iconic history that Old Sarum has helped shape since the early 1900’s. If your flight is rained off or you have a few minutes to spare, visit the collection and experience historic flight… hands on. Find out more about the collection at www.boscombedownaviationcollection.co.uk or book your flying experience at www.goflyuk.com.
