Learning to Resolve Conflict God's Way

Conflict is a natural part of relationships—especially within the family. But unresolved conflict, harsh words, and simmering anger can plant seeds of division. That’s why Paul’s instructions in Ephesians 4 are so powerful for parenting: “In your anger do not sin... Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” Think of Jacob and Esau in Genesis 27. Their story is a dramatic picture of how unresolved hurt and deception broke family trust. But years later, through humility, courage, and God’s grace, the brothers reconciled (Genesis 33). This is the redemptive journey we are called to model for our children. Godly parents don’t just tell children not to fight—they model how to apologize, how to forgive, and how to restore peace. We teach them to choose reconciliation over revenge and empathy over pride.
