Reflection
Family devotion and worship is one of the most powerful ways to cultivate a God-centered home. Psalm 128 paints a picture of a blessed household—one where reverence for God flows from the parents and trickles down to the children. The fruit is stability, peace, joy, and generational blessing. We see a beautiful example of family worship in the home of Joshua, who boldly declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). Joshua made a deliberate choice: no matter what culture did, no matter what other families pursued, his household would be anchored in worship and obedience to God. Similarly, in the New Testament, Timothy grew strong in faith because his mother, Eunice, and grandmother, Lois, taught him the Scriptures from childhood (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:15). Their devotion created a spiritual foundation that shaped Timothy into a leader in the early church. Family devotion is not about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s about pausing the busyness of life to sit together, read the Word, pray, worship, and invite the Holy Spirit into the home. These simple, consistent moments transform atmospheres, strengthen bonds, and build faith that lasts for generations.
