In this final episode of season 1, I get to have a very insightful conversation with my 10 year old daughter Gabriella. Gabbi as I like to call her is a determined young lady with big goals and great aspirations to become not only an influencer but a Pediatrician one day. Her thoughts on returning back to in-person learning and her favorite food are just some of the things we discussed in this conversation.
It is our responsibility as parents to impart love, a healthy environment and motivation into our children so that they can thrive and exceed our expectations. God has gifted us with our youth and I believe we have an obligation to give them the values needed so that they can tap into their potential and and maximize on their purpose. LEAVE EMPTY with Gabbi and I as we show you what legacy looks like.
Have you noticed that the world is becoming a lot less caring and a little more daring? I thought it was just me.
In this episode, I take you on a solo trip of my week in review. While my wife is in Guatemala living her best life, I’m dealing with major dysfunction in our world we call supply and demand. If you’ve ever gone into a store and witnessed unpleasant customer interaction then you’re not alone. It seems to me that more and more people in the service sector care less about courtesy and professionalism and more about social capital.
LEAVE EMPTY with me as I discuss more important matters and why we should make a conscious effort to think before we speak.
Sometimes a good conversation with someone can provide you with valuable insight into that person’s life. Your perceptions or misconceptions about them are transforming and educational but also causes introspection.
In this episode of LEAVE EMPTY, I sit down with a bona fide thriver who knows what it’s like to have difficulty and extremely challenging times at a young age. Shane Lewis is a man who doesn’t make excuses, doesn’t hide and doesn’t blame other people for his choices. Tragically, Shane’s journey took a dark turn at age 12 and growing up slowly was no longer an option. We discuss everything from perseverance to faith, only pausing to share perspectives about (“Grace & Race”, an honest conversation about how we deal with race relations in present day.)
Open up your mind a little and take this drive with us. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Have you ever looked back over your life and discovered that there was a point and time when stupidity may have been normal? Okay, maybe not normal for some of you but an occasional brain freeze now and then. At some crossroad, you began to think about your choices and found yourself with a new friend called discipline.
Today I sit down with a former camper, Shemar Green. We catch up to discuss what he’s been doing since leaving camp at age 14. He’s almost 20 now and it’s good to hear about his maturation process, goals, family and much more. Shemar is young, humble and focused. His insight on serving his community and helping those in need will inspire you. Travel down memory lane with us as we LEAVE EMPTY!

Have you ever heard someone banging on cars? If you have, it may have very well been today’s guest, Robert Lee Strother Jr.. Bro. Bob as I like to call him is a musician who has a lot of tricks up his sleeves. He is a husband, father, teacher and author amongst many other things. The one I find most fascinating is his ability to keep things moving forward. From joining the U.S. military to martial arts and being a barber, there isn’t much he hasn’t done.
Today we sit down to discuss his journey and quest to accomplish everything he is destined to do. He considers himself to be “seasoned and not old”. You will be impressed with Bro. Bob’s vigor and vitality as he shares important perspectives on why imparting determination in our youth is key to their development. We tackle the challenges of being relevant in this culture and unpack the little things that make the difference in people’s lives. LEAVE EMPTY with us as we take this ride together!

Being born into a specific race comes with its traditions, customs and various languages. For most of us, our cultural identities are woven into the the fabric of our ancestral beginnings. We take our cues from the elders within the community and enlightening stories help to shape and mold our values. For many of us, we share similar features, interests, vocal tones and even core competencies but still, we are not a monolith.
Today I sit down with Trieste Charles to discuss family, parenting, “culture within the culture” and a great reason why we should keep an open mind about other people. Go with us as we unpack some misunderstandings about (“the black experience”) and engage one another in a healthy dialogue that challenges your traditional perspectives about the African diaspora. Inspiration can sometimes show up when you least expect it. If you’re not careful, it can put you on a path to greatness or disappointment. The word alone touches emotions that breathe confidence, self-awareness and intentionality. Some of us just need a little push to get us started on our way to purpose road. Once there, we’ll meet some people who won’t hesitate to encourage us to keep moving forward.
Today my good friend Jacki Cordery takes us through her journey of becoming an award winning songwriter/producer, wife and mother. She shares her intimate reflections on family, the early years of her influencers, “growing up church” and the legacy of music and life left by her parents and grandparents. In our conversation, a good helping of honesty is on the menu.
We also discuss mental health, coping with loss and the importance of leaving a lasting impact with the time we’ve been privileged with. Go with us as we LEAVE EMPTY!

Have you ever conquered something so enormous that everything else pales in comparison? Maybe you’ve tried to achieve a goal but it didn’t work out the way you thought it would.
Today I sit down with my good friend Lawrence James to have a heart to heart conversation about overcoming the impossible. This Brooklyn NY native son is the epitome of courage, determination and humility. When doctors told him he wouldn’t be able to have a family, he and his wife Tia prayed for a year and miracles began to happen. Lawrence is a true family man and doesn’t mind a 5 hour trip up the Amazon River. I’m not kidding! His infectious love for life will have you thinking about all the things you could be doing and kicking yourself for the things you should have been experiencing.
Sit back and enjoy this wild ride with Lawrence and I as we LEAVE EMPTY!

When you think of parenting, what comes to mind? How often do you model for your children the art of apologizing? In this episode, I sit down with Michelle Rouse to discuss her parenting guidelines and what works for her as she is raising a teenage daughter.
Not only is Michelle a parent, she is also creative, entertaining and has been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. Her understanding of style has provided her the opportunity to showcase her talents in many different spaces. She once took over a cruise ship with her soulful singing and became an instant favorite to the passengers.
