  • 54—Beautiful Colossus
    Well then,
Let’s start the week off a little late but we will do it with style and class.
This week Pat and Jerry were joined by a magic couple who share a love of legacy, meanwhile I had to bounce out early.
Regardless, some may know Kate Donnelly from her articles on Hipsters of the Coast. She has been a local player in the Massachusetts area and is also celebrating a relationship with a good friend Aaron Gazzaniga.
We would like to publicly wish them well and appreciate them joining us for an evening of entertainment.
    Enjoy.

  • 53—The Bear and The Dragon (Stompy)
Celso joins the show this week for a re-recording of an episode that was lost to the aether of the internet!
We talk his latest Dragon Stompy deck, the Legacy IQ in Atlanta, and debate if Brainstorm is warping the legacy format.

  • 52—Happy Birthday
So, it has been 52 weeks of us meeting up here.
What a strange trip it’s been!
So we were joined this week by 2 friends of the cast. One local and one remote.
Special thanks to the special guests. Mr. Jon “The Boss” Kerman and Mr. Andrew Wright from TuskTalk (also found on MTGCast).
Thank for keeping us going. I had to edit this week and bring some of the original content back.
    Hope you all enjoy!
Oh, and check out TuskTalk here.

  • 51—Dig Through Time Marches On
    Wow,
Is it Monday again? Well, we gotta do something about that…
We were joined by a BOSS podcast enthusiast from the north, Mr Braden DeFoe (@manaburnunit) and we discussed things the Banned and Restricted announcement.
Pat also opened 2 Expeditions at prerelease because he has the golden Midas Touch apparently.
Anyway guys, Hope you all had a good pre-release and we will catch you next week for the 1-year anniversary of the cast.
    Till then… enjoy!
    Thanks,

  • 50—Sneaky Sneaky
Well let’s see if we can make Monday just a little easier to deal with.
Hopefully your day goes by a little smoother.
    Be well and thanks.
Sincerely though, thanks for the support for the charity drive too. I thought the number set was just some high number and figured it was attainable in a year and a half or more, if ever.
You guys hit that total by the time the next set released and it leaves me in awe.
I also hope that, if you guys did play in any events this weekend, that you were able to open incredible pools and prize packs.
    Until next time…
    Thanks,

  • 49—An Enchanted Weekend
    Welcome back to LAL,
So last weekend was the SCG IQ for Legacy held in Worcester Massachusetts. While Adrian circled the room seeking out pieces to rebuild Merfolk, Pat played through the field in steady fashion. Meanwhile, Jerry dropped from the event which may have been due to some events from the night before, or perhaps it was due to a fear of facing Pat in round 4.
Joining us this week to discuss the events was local Enchantress enthusiast, Curtis Wiemann. “Who is Curtis?” you ask. Well, besides being a local player, he also writes for hipsters of the coast. You can find his profile information here.
Curtis also wrote up a tournament report of his 5th place finish which can be found here as well.
Man you volume for this one. The microphones get a little unstable but we hope you all enjoy.
    Thanks,
    Adrian – @mathematrickste

  • 48—Getting Muddy
    Welcome back to LAL.
This week finds Jerry missing while Pat and I discuss MUD and other stuff but I actually forgot what.
In more of a contemporary “blog” type of reference, the legacy event held by SCG was today and got to meet and catch up with a lot of awesome guys from the facebook group. I tried to invite all out to dinner and a few of us did make it to the Brazilian Steakhouse.
I am now at a 3/75 on the merfolk rebuild, thanks to Pat.
Commons are still being donated as well as other magic merch to be transferred into cash donations to MTGCast and the St Jude Childrens Hospital. You guys are awesome.
I even managed to walk the room after some side event drafts fired to collect commons.
Goryo’s Vengeance still seems too high for me to want to dive back into tin-fins and I still seek to watch some prices come down a little on some merfolk cards until after modern dies down a bit.
In the meantime, we hope you guys enjoy the cast.
    Thanks,
    Adrian – @mathematrickste
