The Great Deception we are facing today centers around the same issues the church at Colossae was struggling with.  And it all has to do with this one simple question:  Who is Jesus? Is He really the only way to the Father? Is He really the only way to heaven? Why is He right and everyone else wrong?Isn't that intolerant and judgmental? And isn't being intolerant and judgmental a sin?Hence, the Great Deception.  Want to find out how to survive the Great Deception?  Then keep listening. The following is a study on Colossians 2:4-7.

  • 322 - Sending Me to You in the Form of Him
In John 14 we see Jesus, trying to encourage His disciples, telling them a wondrous truth.  He said, "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another (allos— another, but of the same kind and essence, of equal quality) Helper, that He may abide with you forever" (John 14:16).
Or, to put it another way, Jesus said, "I'm leaving.  But I'm going to send Me to you in the form of Him— to be with you forever."
Really?  But what does that mean?  And what are the implications of that amazing truth?
Much.  So much.  Keep listening to find out more.

  • 321 - Are You a Faker?
A faker is defined as someone who presents a false or misleading representation of themselves or someone who is not authentic or genuine, a sham.
Many church members today are fakers.  And the person they fake out the most is themselves.  They believe they are saved because they prayed a prayer, or walked an aisle, or raised a hand, or were baptised, or whatever— yet true salvation never took place.  They became part of the great throng of baptised, unsaved, church members.
How?  How can that be?  Because they skipped a key step in salvation.  They went from God's effectual call straight to conversion without the sovereign act of regeneration taking place.
And that makes them a faker.  And being a faker is a terrible place to be.
Want to know more about being a fake Christian and how to find true, authentic, genuine faith?  Then keep listening.

    The steps include:
    1. You must be saved.  Truly saved.
    2. You must renounce all sin.
    3. You must be baptised.
    4. You must live a life of obedience.
    5. You must have a desire, a thirst for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  • 319 - The Riches of Full Assurance
In Colossians 2:2 we read the phrase: "And attaining to all the riches of full assurance of (what) understanding, (to what degree) to the knowledge of the mystery of God."  So, what does this actually mean?
To "attain" means "to possess, to move into, unto, towards, to be among."  Got that.  But what about "full assurance"?  What does that mean?
The word "full assurance" is used only four times in the New Testament and means "complete confidence, a most sure confidence, a full and perfect conviction, the full and total reliance on something or someone, to have complete understanding."  OK, but complete confidence and understanding of what?  Of Christ and the Father, to have the mind of Christ, to see things from His perspective, to understand truth as He understands truth, to have His peace and confidence and full assurance in the Father.
Is that possible?  Is this promise and prayer meant for us today?  And, if so, where do we find that kind of assurance?  How can we discover and attain the "riches of full assurance" in the things of God?
Want to know more?  Then keep listening.

  • 318 - We Are Not Alone... Even if it Feels Like it.
Sometimes, when we look at how big the evil in the world is and how small we are in comparison, we tend to get defeated and depressed.  “After all,” we reason, “what can one man do?  I’m in this all alone.  The enemy is too big, too well funded, too powerful.  What can one man do?”
But we forget we are not alone.  We are part of the church, His church, the unified Body of Christ.  We are children of God. And, “if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” (Rom. 8:17).
We can’t look at us and the enemy with our own eyes, we must look at things from the eyes of our Lord.  And when we do, everything changes.
