Discordianism is a modern, humorous, and often paradoxical religion or philosophy that emerged in the late 20th century. Rooted in absurdist principles, Discordianism embraces chaos, randomness, and the celebration of discord as fundamental aspects of existence. Followers, known as Discordians, revere Eris, the Greek goddess of discord, as a central figure and often employ satire, irony, and nonsensical rituals to challenge conventional thinking and promote individual freedom. Discordianism encourages questioning authority, rejecting dogma, and finding humor in the absurdities of life, making it both a philosophical stance and a lighthearted way of navigating the complexities of existence.
