The proposed downtown Market Plaza development may be gaining some momentum as the City Council takes up a recommendation for development and management partners. The Lee’s Summit R-7 Board of Education tabs Ryan Murdock to remain as president and elects Megan Marshall to serve as Vice President; plus other notes from local businesses and the City of Lee’s Summit.

The Market Plaza development, which includes the voter-approved downtown performance space is taking a big step forward and Nick & Jason take a quick read of the tea leaves after the recent LSR7 BOE election. Ben Rao joins Nick in the second segment to talk about his new book and work to help people care for loved ones as they age and need more care.

The City of Lee’s Summit and a host of partners are offering a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination event this week at Legacy Park; a local resident has created a unique fundraiser and opportunity to put your pet in some unique art; a reminder on some changes to the LSR7 AMI schedule and summer camp information.

Nick and Jason take just a few minutes to review Tuesday’s election results (read: plead with more people to show up and vote) before turning to a conversation with Lee’s Summit resident Sharon Newman Edwards. Edwards hosts a true crime podcast called Justice… delayed, documenting her dive into an unsolved murder from Abilene, Texas.
