Welcome to Episode 5 of the Left of Str8 Show. We had another great set of guests this week and talked about the new Caitlyn Jenner tv show on E!, as well as LGBT in the news.

Our first guest is the fantastic Shane C. Chase, author of a book of poetry that will melt your heart and inspire your mind. His debut poetry book, "Beautifully Broken" came out this Spring and we talk all about it, how Anne Rice, superstar author of the Vampire Lestat and many more, recommended this book, and what's going to be coming next for Shane.

Chef Alexis Hernandez came to cooking a little later in life after getting a BA in Theology from the prestigious Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and then going on to become management and learn the retail merchandising, management and leadership in the Big Box retail biz. He eventually left that corporate world to move back to a 65 acre farm and started experimenting more with cooking and understanding food in it’s most natural state. After graduating at one of the most prestigious cooking schools, only 2 years later, he earned a spot on the Food Networks tough competition to find the next Food Network Star. He was soon being featured on television and was sought after Chef all over the South and East Coast. Currently he’s the Director and Executive Chef of the Union Hill Restaurant Group and lives with his husband in Atlanta.

Singer, Entrepreneur, and Radio Personality Garrett Miller has moved between the corporate world and entertainment world for quite a while, but recently he has really began focusing on his singing and Internet Radio Show. He has a CD that dropped just this year, Blond Jesus, and re-imagined Billy Idol’s iconic song, White Wedding, as an homage to Marriage Equality. He has an Internet radio show heard internationally Monday thru Friday, and is one of the most listened to Friday night Dance Parties in Europe.

My Second Guest is Actor/Singer/Dancer and Broadway Star, Nick Adams. Growing up about 90 miles from where we broadcast, in Erie, PA, and moving succesfully from regional theatre to a prestigious acting school and direct to Broadway, Nick has been in Chorus Line, Chicago, and originated Adam/Felicia in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. He just finished touring as Fiyero in Wicked and is here to talk about that and upcoming projects.

On the second Left of Str8 Show, guests Emerson Smith, John Brickner, and Eric Feliciano, discuss their video production company, "A Day Before Productions." The three men met in Ohio and got together in L.A. to form their company as they write, produce, and direct, original pieces together. Their first full-length feature film, "Beach House Way" premieres in L.A. next Tuesday, July 14th.

Home chef turned professional, Sharon Damante, was a competitor on the Food Network competition, All-Star Academy, where she was paired with mentor Chef, Curtis Stone and was one away from competing in the finale. She had what many say was one of the best dishes of the entire competition. Now working as a private chef for wineries in the Napa Valley region of California, Sharon is enjoying life as a professional chef, and working on her book about her travels and cooking in Umbria, Italy.

Bert Gallegher, along with his partner Doug Jacobson, found themselves out of a job and working with each other in a job neither of them loved. Thru the right events happening, they are now owners and lgbt allies, creating the fine spirit, Equality Vodka, and give back to the lgbt community with each bottle sold. Based out of Texas and trying to grow their brand nationwide, Bert comes on to tell a bit of their story and what the goals for Equality Vodka in the future are.

I predicted early, before the show started, who I thought my final 3 would be that would make "pilots" for their own shows, in the Food Network Star Finale, and at week 5, all three are still in, except we had a close one last week.  My three predictions are Jay Ducote, Alex McCoy, and Michelle Karam.  I have also come to love my two fellow Italiano's on the show, Rosa Grazziano, who get sent home last week and I really can't talk about it yet, lol, and Dominick Tesoriero, who makes me feel his painful shyness in front of the camera.  My surpise of the series, has been Emilia Cirker, who I gave no chance of in my preview predection, and has really been showing her stuff lately.  I didn't even see Arnold Myint as anything but a middle contestant, and he is Four for Four in competitions so far.....WooHoo!
