Vinod Kapri, the Director of the '1232 KMS', a documentary film on the crisis that migrant labourers faced during the lockdown in 2020 and the impact it had on their lives, tells NDTV in an interview that he wanted to "understand their journey, their circumstances and what made them take such a decision."

The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill has been passed in both the houses of parliament. Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to stop Arvind Kejriwal at any cost, which is why he got the bill that gives Lieutenant Governor more power passed in parliament. On the show, one year after the COVID-19 lockdown, we revisit the tragic, desperate and heart-wrenching migration that took place last year.

The controversial bill against which the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has been protesting, was passed in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The opposition protested the legislation, with MPs from parties like the BJD, Samajwadi Party, Congress and the YSR Congress staging a walkout. The opposition had termed the bill 'unconstitutional' and demanded that it be sent to a Select Committee for scrutiny.

As India marks a year since the lockdown, what has changed for migrant workers? Actor and producer Sonu Sood tells NDTV that "the crisis has still not gone away; a lot of people are still trying to get back on their feet as problems with jobs and finances still persist." He also says that "we should remember this day as a lot of people in the country suffered a lot."

Film Director Vishal Bhardwaj has composed music for '1232 KMS', a documentary film that chronicles the mass exodus of the migrants during the lockdown announced by the centre in 2020. In an interview to NDTV, he says, "We were all feeling helpless, my heart was crying, I didn't know how to express my feelings for the migrants. This documentary was an opportunity for me to express my inner feelings". He also says that "it is painful to watch the documentary but there is an overwhelming feeling of an underdog winning."

The government has announced that all citizens above the age of 45 can get vaccinated against COVID-19 from April 1. With an SOS being sounded by the Punjab government about over 80 per cent of the 401 samples they've tested being positive for the UK strain, there's one big question on everyone's mind - are Covid mutants behind the second wave of infections?
