Welcome to our final podcast on speech and language development. In this podcast, we will walk you through what to expect if you take your child for a communication evaluation and some of the terms you might hear. We are reflecting the experience in our geographic area and with the governmental supports that are here. Your experience may be somewhat different in those aspects but the process should be very similar.

Three-year-olds are really interesting people.  They are becoming less dependent on the adults in their lives.  They love to explore, play with other children, and are beginning to understand the power of language to help them navigate their worlds.  We hope you find some activities in this podcast that will not only build your child’s language skills but will also encourage rich relationships between the members of your family. 

Welcome to our podcast on colours, letters and numbers. When you wander through a typical toy store, you may see a sign that indicates toys for language development.  If you carefully study the toys or games there, you will find a lot of activities that involve colours letters, shapes and numbers.  As we hope you will learn by the end of this podcast, for us these are not what we consider activities to build language.

We will introduce you to these exciting changes and tell you what interesting developments to look for. But please remember that each child is an individual and develops at their own rate.

Welcome to our podcast about activities for 2 year olds. This podcast is going to be slightly different in that we will be spending more time talking about toys that are great for language development. 

In this mini-podcast we will explore the world of temper tantrums in children from 12 months to 4 years old. We will look at what a temper tantrum is and how they should be perceived and handled. 

In this podcast we talk about how children around 2 years of age are now learning to put words together to express themselves. In that context we will discuss the child’s physical activities and emotional growth including temper tantrums. 

In this podcast we talk about the power of play. We hope you see that play is central to your child’s learning and development. When a child plays, it gives that child lots of different ways and times to learn.
