Every campfire eventually burns down, but the stories told around it stay with you.

On this final episode of the Legacy Acres Podcast, we sit down together one last time and talk about a decision that comes with a lot of mixed emotions. We’re sad to see this chapter end, but at the same time, we’re at peace knowing it’s time.

When we started this podcast, we were just three small-town guys who loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and sitting around telling stories. Truthfully, we started recording this thing for us. We never knew if anybody else would listen, and we definitely never expected people to keep coming back episode after episode.

That became one of the greatest parts of this whole thing.

To everyone who faithfully listened, sent us segment ideas, shared trophy pictures, told us your own hunting stories, reached out about something we said, or simply told a buddy, “Hey, you need to listen to these guys,” thank you.

We mean that more than we could ever put into words.

You gave three buddies from the Texas Panhandle a reason to keep sitting down behind the microphones. Knowing there were people out there who genuinely looked forward to hearing us shoot the bull every week was something we never expected when we started, and something we’ll never forget now that it’s over.

We hope somewhere along the way we made you laugh, gave you something to argue about, maybe taught you something, or just made a drive to work or a long trip to the hunting lease go by a little faster.

The microphones may be getting turned off, but the hunts, the stories, the friendships, and everything Legacy Acres has meant to us aren’t going anywhere.

The fire may be going out, but the stories told around it stay with you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank y’all for pulling up a chair and sitting around the campfire with us.

Logan and Caleb are on the mics this week, and it’s time to BUY or SELL.

The boys fire through hunting, fishing, and all-around outdoors takes and decide where they stand. Some are easy buys, some are getting sold immediately, and a few might start an argument around the campfire.

From hunting opinions and fishing debates to the takes outdoorsmen love to argue about, nothing is off limits.

Caleb left the boys unsupervised this week, which means Logan and Jarrett are behind the microphones sharing some of the funniest outdoor stories they've never planned on telling.

From hunting mishaps and road trip disasters to a fishing trip where literally everything that could go wrong did, the guys relive the moments that felt like complete disasters at the time but have turned into some of their favorite stories. Consider this the LCJ Outdoors version of ESPN's Not Top 10, packed with bad luck, bad decisions, and memories that only get better with time.

Logan and Caleb are back in studio for a gear focused episode, but instead of talking about gear in general, they're breaking it down by hunt, season, and species.

Caleb walks through the exact equipment he relies on throughout the year, explaining how his setup changes from the scorching heat of early-season pronghorn hunts to chasing bugling elk in the Colorado mountains. The draw results are in, and Caleb breaks down how things shook out in Colorado this year. He also shares some exciting news as he and his elk hunting partner may have the opportunity to chase pronghorn in New Mexico this fall.

This week on The Legacy Acres Podcast it’s just Logan and Caleb behind the mics catching up on gear, hunt plans, and the side of hunting people don’t always talk about.

To open things up, the conversation shifts into the mental side of hunting completely solo. From long drives and empty camps to having nobody there to share the highs and lows with, the boys talk about why solo hunting can wear on you mentally far more than physically, and why the outdoors feels like something that was meant to be shared.

Caleb breaks down some of the new mechanical broadheads hitting the market that have him fired up heading into season, along with his switch to a hinge release and the learning curve that comes with changing up your setup.

This week on the Legacy Acres Podcast, Caleb recaps the boys’ trip down to San Antonio for Total Archery Challenge alongside Clay, Bama, and the crew. From steep shots on the TAC courses to squeezing in a little golf between courses, the trip turned into the kind of weekend that gives you stories worth retelling, and a  very expensive bump on the head. 

Then Jarrett steps outside his comfort zone as he breaks down his first ever NRL Hunter match at the Dust Devil Duel. With targets stretched all the way to 900 yards and very little experience shooting those kinds of distances, he shares what surprised him most, what he learned under pressure, and what it’ll take to keep improving in the sport moving forward.

This week on the Legacy Acres Podcast, Jarrett shares the story of his hunt for a Midnight Urial Ram, and what was supposed to be a straightforward hunt quickly turned into a full-blown adventure.

After finally getting his target ram on the ground, the day was far from over. In a moment he’ll never forget, Jarrett turns right around and surprises his dad with a hunt of his own, and just like that it becomes a multi-generational day in the field.

With his dad and granddad alongside him, the boys punch two tags on their target rams, making for a hunt that’s about a whole lot more than just the harvest.
