Notes

• There is a war against the church
• Even the strongest can get deceived and indoctrinated
• Ephesians 2:2
• ANXIOUS APPREHENSION: It happens a little at a time which causes you to be:
  1. overwhelmed with loneliness and fear hopelessness
  2. Can stop eating the word losing their appetite
  3. They have guilt & condemnation
  4. A lessening of group identity - pull away from the group and you stop believing in the mission
  5. Soldiers begin to refuse to fight
  6. Going AWOL
• He’ll focus on what you don’t have - 2 Corinthians 9:8
• God gives us all we need in his word

Questions:

• How can we stand in the truth when we’re being flooded with “propaganda” ie. lies, deception?
• What are practical ways to fight against anxious apprehension?

FOUR PRACTICAL WAYS TO FIGHT BACK – COUNTERATTACKS

1 – Fellowship.  Hebrews 10:25 – Don’t forsake the gathering of the saints.  Confess your sins one to another – not because another human can forgive you, but because the devil will use your secret sin and hang it over your head.  Bring it into the light and rip that power right out of his hands.  Have accountability and support

2 – Read your Bible – know what it says.  Know what God says about you and your future

• Deuteronomy 28:7 – The Lord will cause your enemies to be defeated and flee in 7 different directions
• John 16:33 – In this world, you will have trouble, but take heart I have overcome the world
• 1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith
• Revelations 12:11 – We have overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony

God knows who you are. He knew you before He created you in your mother’s womb.  Reading your bible is how you get to know who He is.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, he was tempted three times, and each time he responded with scripture as his weapon (from Deuteronomy)!

3 – Pray every chance you get. Pray for yourself – ask God for help and strength.  Remember the full armor of God: Ephesians 6:10-18 (helmet of Salvation, shield of faith)  E.M. Bounds calls this “constant communion with Him”

Kneeling in the natural is a position of weakness.  Kneeling before the Lord is a position of STRENGTH!

4 – Serve – Even Jesus served.  Practice putting your own wants/emotions on the back burner.  Practice serving someone other than yourself.  “His will not ours.”  These are the moments in life where we get taught/corrected, and qualified!
