"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ." (Romans 8:16–17)
Many of us see God through a broken lens shaped by hurt, absent fathers, or bad examples. In part three of the According to Jesus series, Pastor Ron Termale shares how Jesus found His identity in God as His Father and in the family of God, and how we can too. God is a father to the fatherless who will never be abusive or absent, and when you know who God is, you'll know who you are: His child and heir, with authority in prayer. It's also an invitation to let go of offense and unforgiveness so God can heal and set you free.
Scriptures: Matthew 12:46–50, Psalm 68:5, Psalm 103:8, Romans 8:1, Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 53:3, Romans 8:16–17, Galatians 4:6–7, Matthew 18:18, Genesis 22:14, Exodus 15:26, Judges 6:24, 1 Samuel 1:3, Mark 11:25
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)
The one thing Jesus did more than anything else was pray. In part two of the According to Jesus series, Pastor Ron Termale shares four keys to life-changing prayer: tell yourself to pray, pray in Jesus' name, set a time every day to pray, and pray relationally rather than mechanically. Prayer isn't a ritual or a punishment; it's a conversation with a Father who loves you. If you want breakthrough this year, start with prayer.
