What does it really mean to be content? Writing from prison, Paul shares something he learned through seasons of abundance, need, success, and suffering: our circumstances may change, but Christ does not. In this message, we’ll discover how Christ changes our hearts to care for others, teaches us contentment, and gives us strength for every season.
Life can get loud - and sometimes the loudest voices begin shaping what we believe is true. In Philippians 4, Paul shows us that peace is possible even when our circumstances remain unsettled.
Paul reminds believers that because Christ has already taken hold of us, we can live in freedom from the past, live with confidence in the present, and eagerly await the future hope of Christ's return. As citizens of heaven, we are called to stand firm by living faithfully today; pursuing holiness, making disciples, and representing Christ as His ambassadors while we wait. Our confidence in Christ should produce steadfast lives that invite others to follow Jesus alongside us.
Some roads look right...until they lead you straight into a wall. In Philippians 3, Paul shows us the freedom of letting go of everything we’ve trusted to make us enough and discovering that knowing Jesus is better than winning at the wrong game. You never outgrow the pursuit of knowing Him.
We’re all spending our lives somewhere - our energy, attention, words, relationships, and influence. In Philippians 2:12–18, Paul shows us that a life that counts is not measured by attention, comfort, or success, but by whether God’s work in us makes the gospel visible through us.
Joy doesn’t usually disappear all at once. It leaks out slowly as life turns inward – toward self-importance, self-protection, half-hearted obedience, and complaint. But Philippians 2 shows us a better way: joy returns as Christ turns us outward, reshaping our hearts with His humility, love, and purpose.
In Philippians 1:12–30, Paul shows us a joy that can hold under pressure. From prison, with critics stirring up trouble and an uncertain future ahead, Paul’s confidence does not collapse because his life is centered on Christ. This sermon explores how durable, defiant joy grows when Jesus becomes greater than our circumstances, our ego, and even our fears.
Joy is not found in getting life exactly the way we planned. In Philippians 1, Paul shows us how a joy-filled life grows through gospel partnership - sharing the mission, walking through hard things together, and praying for one another’s growth.
When Jesus ascended into heaven, His work did not end; it entered a new chapter. Luke 24:50–53 shows us that right before ascending to heaven, Christ blessed His people and prepared His followers for the mission ahead. We are reminded that the risen and reigning Jesus is still at work in our lives today as He blesses us, sends us, and invites us to worship Him.
Jesus reminds His followers of the gospel message and calls them to share it with the world. We are not only recipients of God's grace but witnesses of it. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are sent to live and proclaim the good news of Jesus.
