Christ followers must learn from the failures of the past—whetherthose mistakes were made by themselves or others. Regular Sabbath observance is a great way to prevent hard-heartedness and foster sensitivity to the gospel.

Summary: God judges those he loves for the purpose of redemption, not taking pleasure in the demise of anyone. We reap what we sow, whether we sow righteousness, which leads to life, or wickedness, which leads to death (Romans 6:23).

This six-week Lent series borrows its title from Ezekiel 36 and the picture given there of “the heart of stone” (v. 26). The series looks at ways our hearts are hardened or can be hardened and God’s invitation to transform our callous hearts into “hearts of flesh.” This sermon series is meant to edify our church body by entreating us to seek and find spiritual renewal in Christ.

God wants to restore the world. God seeks to renew us not because of our goodness but because of his goodness.

God’s offer of grace is an ongoing theme in the book of Jonah.  God’s offer of grace comes to us based non our worthiness but on his willingness.  God gives favor when we seek Him. When we realize this, we can look back on our life and see that God’s grace has been active all along, even in our disobedience.
