It’s almost 90 degrees daily and with no a/c the nights are almost as hot as the days.

Through it all you could tell that our spirits were still high.

Liv and I survived Hurricane Helene which hit on Friday September 27, 2024.

She hit our small town of McRae-Helena around 2 am EST like she was pissed off!

We lost power around the same time and it was finally restored six days later (the following Wednesday night). 

We surveyed the damage at 7 am EST that morning and trees were down, buildings were damaged and it looked like a tornado had touched down. 

Helene hit land as a category 4 hurricane and by the time she reached us she was still at category 3 strength. 

This episode covers our experience within that first 24 hours after the storm. 

It was recorded on a road trip from a nearby town called Eastman, Georgia.
