we are honoured to welcome Patience Chirisa — a Zimbabwean-born Canadian chef, culinary instructor, author, cultural storyteller and passionate advocate for African cuisine.
Patience has built an impressive body of work through Wine Dine Africa, a multi-platform brand encompassing a cooking show on Rogers TV, a magazine and published cookbooks, all created to celebrate authentic African fusion cuisine and introduce the richness of African food culture to wider audiences.
Her journey is one of culture, courage and connection.
From Zimbabwe to Canada, Patience has transformed her passion for food into a platform for cultural education and representation. Her culinary philosophy beautifully brings together traditional African flavours with modern, international and Canadian influences, while maintaining a strong appreciation for fresh, local, seasonal and organic ingredients.
Beyond the kitchen, she is an educator, lifestyle writer, food-and-wine pairing expert and founder of BIPOC Magazine, amplifying diverse voices, cultures and stories.
Her contribution to cultural tourism is equally inspiring. Patience organised the first-ever African Travel Expo in Toronto, creating a space where African destinations, heritage and experiences could be discovered and celebrated.
Through her cookbooks, culinary experiences, media platforms and storytelling, Patience reminds us that food can preserve heritage, create dialogue and bring people together across borders.
This is more than a conversation about food.
It is a conversation about identity, migration, representation, entrepreneurship, culture and the legacy we leave behind.
