This week begins the Christian tradition of Lent, 40 days of prepation, fasting, meditation and other disciplines designed to prepare us for the coming of Easter Sunday. Many different Chrsitian traditions begin their Lent season with an Ash Wednesday service, a time dedicated to remembering Jesus' sacrifice and for us to take our own place in that story.
Not having a building has made it really difficult for us to find a consistent way to practice Ash Wednesday, so this year, we're going to have our Ash Wednesday celebrations on Sunday, 2/23. This will be a quieter and more introspective time of worship, a time where we invite most of our kids (nursery care will still provided) to worship with us, and a time to begin the Lent season on the right foot.
