Legendary Wrestling Obsession

It's the set up episode to a record setting outdoor show in Canada. Follow the WWF through the summer of 1986 on the way to the largest attendance at a wrestling show in history (to that point). There's so much happening that we can't even mention it all including: Gene on the hunt for the Machines, heel vs heel tag team matches, Savage defends his IC title against Mr Wonderful and Geoff coins the phrase for some new "patented" wrestling terms.

Note: "The Clothesline Heard Around the World" is such a large story line that it deserved it's own episode. We'll be releasing the Hogan/Orndorff saga separately on our Patreon channel!

It's the set up to WrestleMania II and eventually SNME VI. An instant classic between Steamboat and Bret Hart, managers stepping in the ring, Mean Gene making some moves and a Snake is on the loose. Part II covering the actual broadcast will be released next week.

It's time to turn the channel to TBS and take a peak at how a whole other world of wrestling was operating. Or should we call this... "NOT growing up NWA". It's the first televised special for Jim Crockett Promotions on TBS. Join us as we explore the lead up through some of the World Championship Wrestling broadcasts. We got the "Express" tag teams, the Road Warriors, Dusty, Flair and and an appearance by Willie Nelson. An American staple released on the 4th of July... what could be better?

There aren't any costume or mother's day parties but we do get the debut of the Real American video and the Slammy's!

The LWO podcast uncovers a forgotten or perhaps overlooked gem... the AWA's Starcage 1985. This super card from St Paul's featured a triple main event. Join your hosts as we revisit the AWA in the spring of 1985. We cover the lead up to this non-PPV event by looking at some cool house show matches in January and March that set up this themed show. Experience the thrills of Curt Hennig nearly being decapitated and see what happens when a crowd tries to attack the Road Warriors! We also feature an awesome title match between AWA Champ Rick Martel and his arch rival Nick Bockwinkel. It all culminates with an awesome cage match between Sgt Slaughter & Jerry Blackwell vs the Sheik and his army. Whether you watched AWA or not this is a trip down memory lane that you'll want to take.

It's the Christmas/New Years at the Beach edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Join us for all the fun; water slides, swimming lessons, Hogan defends his belt against a former NWA champion and Bobby Heenan makes a guest appearance on commentary.
