Legends Lookback

Although the jetlag has left him scarred and deformed, Freddy C is BACK from Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan. He’s here to tell us all about his experience and be our tour guide to all the Legends-related info that came out of the convention. We’ll speculate about Starfighter, the Legends references in Andor Season 2, and of course Maul: Shadow Lord and the mysterious red-skinned Twi’lek—could it be Darth Talon? Listen to find out what we think.

Crank up your time machines as we blast back to 2005 as we revisit Revenge of the Sith for its 20th anniversary. We're joined by Youtini writer Gea Haff for a mythological breakdown of this beloved film. We talk about our experiences of first seeing the film, the joy of returning to the theater for a revisit, and of course Legends recommendations that enrich the story.

We're gearing up for a fantastic fan convention—Legends Expo! Joining us are two of the event's organizers, Katherine and Corinthia. They're here to tell us all about this event and why Legends fans should attend. We not only talk about the convention, our love for the Star Wars EU, but cosplay, our favorite authors, and of course hot tubs. Get your tickets to Legends Expo while you can still snag the earlybird discount! Visit legends-expo.com to get tickets. Legends Expo will be September 13th and 14th in Burbank, CA. We'll be there and we hope to meet many of our legendary listners!

A brand-new, highly-anticipated Star Wars comic is releasing—Jedi Knights #1 written by Marc Gugenheim with art from Madibek Musabekov. Featuring an ensemble cast of Jedi set before the Phantom Menace, it’s a love letter to lightsabers and the Prequel-era Jedi like we haven’t seen before in recent Star Wars storytelling. We’re riding that wave of excitement all the way back to a bygone era we know and love as “Star Wars Legends” for a chat about our favorite Star Wars warrior monks.

Our conquest of the New Jedi Order series marches on with another of the hardcover flagship titles, Destiny's Way. A major turning point of the series, Destiny's Way has us debating some philosophical conundrums ranging from Jedi involvement in politics, genocide, to the nature of the Force itself. This book really brought out some thought-provoking conversation and we can't wait to hear your thoughts!

2025 marks 20 years since the Skywalker Saga as we knew it concluded with the release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and we’re here to look back at a more civilized age. We're talking about our memories of the movie, how it impacted the Expanded Universe, as well as the merch that had us storming our local Toys R Us like clone troopers upon the Jedi Temple.

This week Jared and Freddy do a character deep dive on one of the most complex and iconic characters in all of Legends - Darth Revan! We chat about the lightsabers, the lore, and the LEGOs of the Jedi-turned-Sith-turned-Jedi with the legendary helmet.

We're ringing in the new year with all the Star Wars Legends updates you'll need for January 2025. Plus we play a countdown-style game in which our hosts list as many items per Legendary category as they can. Let's kick off another great year with all the old-school Star Wars you know and love!
